THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Associate at Sole Consulting, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of client engagements. Working as an integral member of our consulting teams, you will lead key workstreams, helping clients navigate complex business challenges, align stakeholders, make informed decisions, and execute strategic initiatives. In this role, you will assume increasing leadership responsibility by managing day-to-day client relationships, overseeing project deliverables, mentoring junior consultants, and serving as a trusted advisor to both clients and engagement leaders. You will be expected to bring structure to ambiguity, translate complex issues into actionable solutions, and drive measurable outcomes for our clients. The ideal candidate is equally adept at analytical problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and project execution. You are comfortable facilitating discussions among diverse groups, building consensus, and transforming complex concepts into clear, practical recommendations. This position offers exposure to a broad range of industries, business functions, and strategic challenges, along with structured mentorship, professional development opportunities, and a defined path toward advancement into consulting leadership roles. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead discrete workstreams within client engagements by defining project approaches, establishing work plans, managing deliverables, and ensuring successful execution against project objectives and timelines. Analyze complex business challenges, synthesize qualitative and quantitative information, and develop actionable recommendations that enable clients to make informed strategic and operational decisions. Develop client-ready deliverables, including strategic recommendations, operating models, implementation roadmaps, business cases, and executive presentations that support organizational alignment and execution. Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders, serving as a primary point of contact and advisor across business, operational, and technology functions. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions to drive consensus, manage competing priorities, and advance key business initiatives. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in evaluating alternatives, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending solutions tailored to client needs. Mentor and develop junior consultants by providing coaching, reviewing work product, sharing best practices, and supporting professional growth. Contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm through participation in business development initiatives, thought leadership, recruiting efforts, knowledge management, and the enhancement of consulting methodologies and tools. Support engagement leaders in managing project scope, client expectations, resource allocation, and overall engagement success. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS Strong structured problem-solving: you can take ambiguous challenges and create clarity, direction, and momentum. TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related fields. Typically, 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in management or technology consulting A demonstrated track record of owning analytical work and contributing to client or stakeholder deliverables. Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent), with the ability to build clear models and structured presentations. Strong ability to communicate complex ideas clearly in a professional setting. Exercising independent judgment and discretion in developing recommendations, approaches, and solutions for client engagements. Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%-50% based on client and project requirements. You must reside in Los Angeles, Orange County, Denver, or Charlotte, and be able to attend office and client meetings associated with one of our office locations as business needs require. IDEALLY, YOU WILL ALSO HAVE Experience leading a workstream or managing junior team members on complex projects. Exposure to a specific sector or functional area (e.g., operations, growth strategy, financial performance). Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the answer isn’t defined up front. Familiarity with modern analytical and AI-enabled productivity tools used in a professional setting.
