Litigation Attorney

Position Title: Litigation Attorney

Join an established, family-owned law firm where litigators take ownership of substantive cases, work directly with clients, and handle matters from intake through resolution. This role will manage a diverse litigation caseload involving trusts and estates, real estate, and business disputes, with responsibility for discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.

The ideal candidate is a California-barred litigator with strong case management, writing, and advocacy skills who can confidently handle a busy caseload without sacrificing accuracy. They are looking for a mature, professional, and collaborative attorney who connects well with clients, works effectively with the broader legal team, and is comfortable taking ownership without being micromanaged.

Salary Range: $135,000-$195,000 / Year, DOE

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of up to 30 litigation matters from intake through resolution
• Develop case strategy and independently manage deadlines, filings, and client communication
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Research, draft, and argue motions
• Prepare for and participate in depositions and mediations
• Handle trial preparation for matters that do not resolve through mediation or settlement
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals and legal support staff to move cases efficiently toward resolution
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail across complex matters with multiple deadlines and moving pieces

Requirements

• 3+ years of litigation experience
• Experience in trusts and estates litigation, real estate litigation, or business litigation
• Active California Bar membership
• Strong discovery experience including preparing and serving discovery
• Demonstrated motion drafting and legal writing experience
• Deposition and mediation experience
• Trial experience strongly preferred
• Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload
• Professional, relatable, and client-focused communication style
• Collaborative approach with the flexibility to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
