Associate Family Law Attorney The Law Office of Laurence J. Brock is an established family law practice in Rancho Cucamonga seeking a full-time associate attorney to join our firm. We are looking for an attorney who wants to develop and maintain a meaningful family law practice. The associate will work directly with the firm's principal attorney while also assuming substantial responsibility for cases, client relationships, court appearances, negotiations, and trial preparation. Our practice handles a broad range of family law matters, including complex divorce, child custody, move-away cases, domestic violence restraining orders, child and spousal support, and property disputes. Responsibilities The associate attorney will: Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Los Angeles Counties Manage family law matters with increasing independence, including serving as lead counsel on appropriate cases Analyze complex factual and legal issues and develop case strategy Prepare motions, declarations, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents Conduct legal research as necessary Prepare cases for evidentiary hearings and trial Advise and communicate directly with clients Negotiate with opposing counsel and participate in settlement conferences Work collaboratively with experienced paralegals and support staff Assist the principal attorney on complex and contested matters The Candidate We are particularly interested in an attorney with approximately 2–5 years of litigation experience. California family law experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider an attorney with experience in another litigation practice who has a genuine interest in developing a family law practice. The successful candidate should have: Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing Some courtroom and litigation experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills Sound judgment and the ability to work independently Strong organizational and time-management skills The ability to communicate effectively with clients during difficult and often highly emotional circumstances A professional and practical approach to working with opposing counsel and the courts This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants real responsibility and courtroom experience while still having the benefit of working directly with an experienced family law attorney and an established support staff. Compensation and Benefits The salary will depend on prior experience, including family law and litigation experience.
