Clinical Pharmacist in Fredericksburg, VA

A clinical pharmacist position is available for an outpatient infusion center specializing in oncology treatments in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract role offers the possibility to transition to a permanent position based on performance and mutual fit.


Location:

• Fredericksburg, Virginia
• Outpatient infusion center with 44 infusion chairs

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• Shift options: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Pharmacy operational hours: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
• No weekend or on-call responsibilities required

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify chemotherapy and other infusion medications accurately
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
• Monitor patient therapy and provide clinical support
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record and Pyxis automated dispensing system
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Virginia pharmacist license required
• Experience in infusion, hospital pharmacy, and chemotherapy preferred
• Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems is a plus
• Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills

Team Environment:

• Work alongside a small outpatient pharmacy team consisting of 2-3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians
