Family Nurse Practitioner Instructor

Department Summary The Valley Foundation School of Nursing offers a Master’s degree in the concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner. This is one of two graduate programs offered in the School of Nursing. The program will eventually be integrated into the Doctor of Nursing Practice program for a terminal degree. The program is 2.5 years (including summer). Responsibilities Teach Family Nurse Practitioner course content Collaborate in maintaining program and course outcomes Participate in program level meetings Collaborate to design or modify course content and teaching strategies Follow the syllabus as the basis for instruction Conduct face‑to‑face teaching on onsite days Follow minimal teaching expectations of faculty (grading, office hours, etc.) Serve as faculty evaluator for site supervision of clinical students Organize classes within Canvas LMS Conduct all classes as scheduled throughout the term in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, bi‑chronous, in‑person, or hybrid) Demonstrate awareness of the diverse needs of students and adapt inclusive materials and strategies Administrative Role Update course requirements according to national guidelines Coordinate with healthcare practitioners and preceptors Assist in locating clinical sites for student practicum Document, organize, and gather accreditation data Required Qualifications Graduate degree in nursing or a related field National Board certification as a nurse practitioner or advanced practice nurse California RN licensure and California NP or APRN license recognized by the California Board of Registered Nursing Five years of nursing experience Effective interpersonal skills and cultural competence Awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population Preferred Qualifications Experience in didactic and clinical instruction beyond patient education/preceptor roles Family Nurse Practitioner certification Campus Security Authority Faculty coach member in this position is subject to ongoing review for designation as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). If designated, must report Clery incidents and complete Clery Act training. Salary Range L-A / Range 2: $5,507 – $5,959 L-B / Range 3: $6,221 – $7,481 L-C / Range 4: $6,825 – $9,431 L-D / Range 5: $8,593 – $10,347 Conditional Offer Employment is contingent upon proof of eligibility to work in the U.S., proof of COVID‑19 immunization or exemption, and satisfactory background check.
