Construction QA/QC Field Engineer

Industry: Industrial Construction / Water Treatment & Process SystemsLocation: On-SiteEmployment Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)Position SummaryOur client is seeking a QA/QC Field Engineer to support quality control and field construction activities for large-scale industrial water treatment and process system projects. This role serves as a key link between engineering, construction, and quality teams, helping ensure installations meet project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards throughout construction, commissioning, and project turnover.The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial construction, piping systems, mechanical installations, quality inspections, or process facilities and be comfortable working in a field-based environment.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Quality ControlPerform inspections and testing of mechanical systems, piping installations, welding activities, and construction materials.Verify compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable industry standards including AWS, ASME, and OSHA regulations.Review blueprints, schematics, drawings, and technical specifications to confirm installation quality and compliance.Maintain inspection records, weld logs, pressure test documentation, material receiving reports, and other quality-related documentation.Support quality audits, non-conformance reporting (NCR), corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.Coordinate third-party inspections and support regulatory inspection activities.Assist with quality training programs and promote quality awareness throughout the project team.Monitor project quality performance and identify opportunities for improvement.Field Engineering & Construction SupportMonitor daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.Conduct field inspections and verify compliance with engineering specifications and construction standards.Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, construction managers, and quality personnel to resolve technical and construction issues.Provide technical support to field crews during installation, testing, and commissioning activities.Assist with construction progress tracking, documentation, and reporting.Support implementation of project safety requirements and participate in field safety inspections.Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, and field documentation.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Minimum 3 years of experience in construction quality control, quality inspection, field engineering, industrial construction, or related fields.Experience interpreting blueprints, piping drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.Knowledge of construction quality standards, inspection processes, and safety regulations.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field construction environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Ability to spend the majority of working hours on construction sites.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Experience in industrial water treatment, process piping, mechanical systems, or semiconductor facility projects.Experience with welding inspections, pressure testing, and quality documentation.Knowledge of AWS, ASME, DVS, and OSHA standards.Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities.ASQ certification or related quality certifications.Japanese or Chinese language skills are a plus.Additional InformationThis position is classified as Non-Exempt and is eligible for overtime pay.Peak project periods may require 10–12 hour workdays and occasional weekend work.The role is primarily field-based and requires regular interaction with construction teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
