The unit has 25 beds with a patient ratio of 4:1, which may increase to 5:1 during surges. Qualified candidates should possess advanced emergency department competencies. Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians when available. Equipment utilized in the unit includes GE monitors, Baxter pumps, and Zoll travel monitors. The documentation system in use is MediTech Expanse. Candidates are expected to work 36 hours per week, including every other weekend. Strong communication skills and the ability to make personal connections with patients are essential. All required certifications must be current. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs.
