Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working directly with students as a Life Skills Aide supporting special education classrooms in the greater Irving, TX area. There are multiple full-time roles available for experienced paraprofessionals ready to make an immediate impact through the current school year. These onsite positions involve collaborating with dedicated educational teams and providing essential care to students with a range of unique needs.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate required for all applicants
- Recent experience working as a Paraprofessional, Life Skills Aide, or Behavior Technician, ideally in school or similar settings
- Proven ability to support students with disabilities, including assistance with behavior management and personal care routines like toileting
- Strong communication skills, patience, and collaborative mindset
- Ability to follow educational plans and safety procedures as directed by teachers and administration
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in developing academic, social, and daily living skills under the guidance of teachers and specialized staff
- Provide hands-on personal care, mobility help, and direct behavioral support as needed
- Monitor classroom environments and help with managing student behaviors positively and professionally
- Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Model respectful, empathetic interactions at all times
Positions are available immediately and run through May 2027. Openings include roles at both a high school and a middle school campus. Candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience and hold appropriate credentials will be selected for prescreen interviews.
