The ideal candidate will support patient care by performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth and efficient practice operations./ph3Position Summary/h3pThe Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is an integral member of the clinical care team, committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. Under the supervision of licensed providers and the practice manager, the MOA performs clinical and support duties in accordance with NYS guidelines within a team-based, integrative care environment. The MOA supports efficient patient flow, patient safety, satisfaction, and assists with front-end duties as needed./ph3Key Responsibilities/h3pstrongClinical Patient Care/strong/pulliPrepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications per protocol./liliGreet, identify, and escort patients; explain role and procedures./liliCollect and document patient data including vitals, medications, allergies, and chief complaints./liliPerform pre-visit planning and identify care gaps./liliAssist providers with in-office procedures and diagnostic testing (e.g., EKGs, lab collection)./liliCollect, process, and document laboratory specimens; perform CLIA-waived testing and quality controls./liliMonitor EHR messages, health reminders, and delegated tasks per provider direction./liliProvide age-appropriate patient education and coordinate referrals, testing, and prior authorizations./liliMaintain infection control, safety, and aseptic technique standards at all times./liliParticipate in team huddles, meetings, and orientation of new staff./li/ulpstrongPractice Operations/strong/pulliSupport efficient patient flow and clinical operations./liliOperate and maintain clinical equipment; report maintenance issues./liliManage inventory, ordering, stocking, and expiration monitoring of supplies./liliEnsure proper disposal of biohazard and infectious waste./liliAssist with front-end duties including greeting patients, answering phones, and insurance verification./liliPerform other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Scope of Practice/h3pIn accordance with NYS regulations, MOAs may not diagnose, treat, triage, administer medications or injections, interpret test results, perform imaging, apply casts, suture, or assist in surgery./ph3Qualifications Skills/h3ulliCompletion of a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program required./liliHigh School Diploma or GED required./liliCurrent BCLS certification (AHA, in-person only)./liliNational Medical Assistant certification preferred./liliProficiency in phlebotomy, EHR systems, aseptic technique, and clinical equipment./liliStrong communication, organization, and multitasking skills./li/ulh2Posted Salary Range/h2pUSD $24.00 - USD $30.00 /Hr./ppThis range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location.
