Job Summary We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team! Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are responsible for providing individually-focused compassionate care and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and/or mental health challenges. The DSP will also encourage growth towards independence in activities of daily living, socialization, community involvement, and support in expressing choices. Responsibilities Improve and respect the lives of individuals with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities Assist in the implementation of individual plans and behavioral plan goals Update individual case notes daily with feedback regarding the strengths, skills, and performance needs of individuals Help individuals develop appropriate social, behavioral, housekeeping, and daily life skills Assist with daily living activities, including preparing meals and assisting with personal hygiene Assist individuals in the pursuit of recreational, social, and community activities based on their preferences and individual goals Provide supervision and guidance for individuals during skill-building activities Assist and encourage individuals in the establishment of social networks Develop a rapport with individuals and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship Ensure individuals’ rights are protected Qualifications High school diploma/GED required Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and acceptable motor vehicle record preferred Must pass Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check and drug test Possess or be able to acquire certification in First Aid and CPR Skills Compassionate about the care and well-being of others Tactful, patient, and understanding Computer literate Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Critical thinking Observational skills and attention to detail Location This position serves a client in Phoenixville on Saturdays for 1st shift hours (9am-1pm) Similar Roles Interested candidates often have experience or interest in roles such as: Care Givers, Aides, CNA's, Home Health Aides, Mental Health Technicians, MHTs, Behavior Health Technicians, and BHTs Benefits/Perks Flexible Scheduling Competitive Compensation Weekly Pay Mileage Reimbursement Personal and professional fulfillment, positively impacting the lives of others Pay Range $17 or more, depending on experience.
