VP of Marketing

WHAT YOU'LL OWN Reporting to the CEO, the VP, Marketing will be instrumental in driving growth and awareness for the company. In a rapidly evolving AI landscape, this leader will translate Shelf's AI platform value into clear, buyer-relevant messaging that builds credibility and trust with executive decision makers. Operating in a sales-led, account-based motion, this leader will ensure marketing and sales work in lockstep against a defined set of target accounts, building strength in an enterprise GTM motion.The VP, Marketing will partner closely with Product, Sales, and Engineering to elevate the company’s narrative, shape global go-to-market strategy, and drive disciplined execution across the full marketing stack. This leader will manage the existing marketing team and coordinate with the Product team and key personnel based in Poland. WHAT YOU'LL DO In the first six months Assess the current marketing function, team and agency relationships, and build a plan to close the gaps, including establishing a dedicated product marketing capability. Lead the company rebrand and go-to-market repositioning. Build the narrative and campaigns that educate the market on Shelf's evolution from knowledge and process modelling into agentic AI. Strengthen content strategy and production, by evaluating the internal team and external agency relationships and ensuring the infrastructure supports that goal. Ongoing Own marketing strategy, positioning and messaging across the full funnel. Partner with sales on account-based marketing, campaign design and pipeline generation. Manage and grow the marketing team, including decisions on what to build in-house versus keep with agency partners. Coordinate regularly with the Poland-based product team to keep product marketing and roadmap messaging aligned. Set clear KPIs and operating rhythm to drive focus, speed, and accountability across the marketing organization. Report on marketing performance and pipeline contribution to the CEO and executive team. Manage the marketing budget and vendor and agency relationships. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE You are based in the New York City metro area and prepared to work in the office Monday through Friday. This is an on-site, in office role. You have the ability to travel to Warsaw, Poland twice quarterly to collaborate with the technical and product teams based in our Warsaw office. You have proven B2B SaaS marketing experience at a company in roughly the $20 million to $100 million revenue range, or one stage above. You have a track record of building or rebuilding a marketing function, not only running an established one. You have a background in both product marketing and content marketing, with a strong understand of demand generation, enterprise campaign strategy and measurement.. You have experience with account-based, sales-led go-to-market motions and longer B2B sales cycles. You are comfortable as a hands-on player-coach: strategic enough to set direction, and willing and able to execute personally. You have a track record partnering closely with a CEO and senior sales leader as a true go-to-market partner. You have experience working with distributed product or engineering teams across time zones; experience with Europe-based teams is a plus. You raise the bar for everyone around you. You're comfortable holding leaders accountable, influencing without authority, making difficult decisions, and driving cross-functional execution. You create alignment, build trust, and make teams better. Nice to have Experience in AI, data infrastructure or an adjacent enterprise software category.
