Captain

Overview The Captain position ensures guests' initial impressions with Dave & Buster’s are positive and welcoming. Dave & Buster’s is different from everywhere else. No two days are ever the same. Responsibilities Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment. Act as an initial point of contact for safety and security matters in all areas, including front door, viewpoints, midway, bar areas, kitchen, back‑of‑house, dining areas, private event rooms and restrooms. Serve as an ambassador to the building, assisting guests with requests and answering questions as needed. Greet guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while performing multiple job functions. Keep the immediate supervisor promptly informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary. Provide timely and accurate service while managing wait times and communicating information as needed to guests, team members and managers. Competently diffuse difficult guest situations while protecting the integrity and safety of staff, the building and house policies. Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the viewpoint and midway areas. Assist in the cleanliness and organization of rental equipment. Ensure all billiard supplies are stocked, properly cleaned and maintained to maximize costs and decrease loss. Check for restocking of necessary supplies. Bring all areas up to standard. Assist in the rental of billiards and shuffleboards, maintaining and resetting the area after each use. Assist with the set‑up and breakdown of special events as directed by management. Provide game assistance by promptly notifying support technicians or management as needed. Direct guests to kiosk areas and answer questions as needed. Ensure guests adhere to house policies as outlined and inform management of any issues. Bid farewell to guests leaving, ensuring everything was satisfactory and inviting them to return. Assist other team members as needed or as business dictates. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that enhances morale, productivity and efficiency. Dress in accordance with guidelines, looking neat, clean and professional at all times. Physical Requirements Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required. Work in environments with both hot and cold temperatures such as freezers and around cooking equipment. Work in a noisy, fast‑paced environment with distracting conditions. Read and write handwritten notes. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Move around the facility and stand for long periods of time. Walk or stand 100% of the shift. Reach, bend, stoop, mop, sweep and wipe frequently. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Must demonstrate ability to read and communicate in English. Strong communicator who can guide guests through their midway, retail, game rental and dining experiences. Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate school or other jobs.
