The Client Intake Coordinator supports the mission of St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired (SLSBVI) as a first point of contact for prospective clients, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. This role involves gathering essential information, assessing initial needs, coordinating with internal SLSBVI departments to facilitate services efficiently and other community resources.

Principle Accountabilities

• Respond to incoming inquiries via phone, email, or in-person from potential clients, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct initial intake assessments to gather relevant demographic and service-related information.
• Input and maintain accurate client data and summaries in EMR management system.
• Refer clients to other community resources as needs indicate.
• Coordinate with other SLSBVI staff on agency programs and projects.
• Communicate with clients about required documentation, next steps,
• and service processes.
• Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive client information in
• accordance with HIPPA and other regulatory standards
• Lead client support groups.
• Attend community meetings and outreach presentations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred in social work, healthcare administration, or related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in social work, client services, intake coordination, healthcare or social services
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with EMR databases
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail
• Experience managing confidential information with discretion and in accordance with regulatory standards
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and accurately with a high degree of professionalism, teamwork, integrity, loyalty and service to the organization

Working Conditions :

• Full-time position (37.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday) onsite at SLSBVI office in Brentwood, Missouri, with commitment offsite at times for client intake, community outreach and support groups, or other agency event needs
• Frequent computer screen work
• Extended periods of sitting; frequent walking indoors/outdoors
• Occasionally lift/transport items (1-20 lbs.)
