Data Quality Analyst

The Student Data Warehouse (SDW) has several (currently five) projects in development at any given time. A significant requirement for these efforts is to assess and mitigate data quality issues in the SDW and upstream systems. This role will work closely with the SDW and upstream systems, along with their technical staffs, to investigate, discover and document data quality issues, and to research, implement, test and document solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop data quality testing scripts and implement data cleansing processes in existing ETL workflows.
• Conduct data profiling, data quality assessments on completeness, validity, accuracy, non-duplication, timeliness, presentation utility, and intuitiveness.
• Develop data quality rules, identify metrics and design data quality scorecards and dashboards for reporting.
• Investigate data to discover and mitigate issues.
• Identify data quality metrics and develop data quality reports, scorecards and dashboards.
• Work with stakeholders and system owners to identify, monitor and resolve data quality issues.
• Create and maintain supporting data quality documentation such as data flow diagrams, entity relationship models and data quality test plans.

Experience Skillset Required:

• 3+ years of working experience developing data quality and data cleansing processes/scripts.
• In depth experience with SQL programming and relational database management systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or DB2.
• Experience with business intelligence technologies and tools, such as IBM Cognos, Business Objects, Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), and Tableau.
• Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.
• Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models.
