Staff Accountant

Location: Denver, CO Overview As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting the Xcimer team by taking ownership of critical accounting processes including accounts payable and GL accounting, while working cross‑functionally to support the business operations to understand incurred costs and help deliver results on a first‑of‑its‑kind fusion energy system. This full‑time, onsite role is based at our headquarters in Denver, CO. Responsibilities Perform day‑to‑day accounting duties in AP, cash management, GL and other duties as assigned Assist with the monthly close process by posting monthly journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and conducting ad‑hoc financial analysis Support annual audit and tax preparation for federal, state, and local tax returns Own the purchase‑order, AP, and 3‑way match process ensuring bills are reconciled with POs and vendors are paid on time Assist on projects and ad‑hoc assignments as needed Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 1–3 years of accounting experience with direct exposure to AP, FA, GL, and cash reconciliations Solid understanding of GAAP Experience with standard software solutions preferred (e.g., QuickBooks Online, ERPs, Ramp, Carta) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including complex Excel spreadsheets Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and high customer service capabilities Demonstrated organizational skills with keen attention to detail Proactive problem‑solving skills and willingness to take initiative Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired CPA (not required) Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industry experience Experience with ERP systems Experience supporting high‑growth or pre‑IPO companies Salary $85,000 - $100,000 a year Benefits Xcimer offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee health, well‑being, and long‑term success.
