Supervisor Nursing - CICU Full Time Night ShiftThe Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) is a 27 bed cardiac and medical critical care unit. We specialize in pre and post-operative cardiac, cardiomyopathy patients requiring mechanical circulatory support, as well as heart failure and post-MI cardiology patient, IABP, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, TTM, DKA, Pacemakers, Severe Sepsis, and Respiratory Failure. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Director, or Executive Director, the Supervisor Nursing / Charge Nurse – CICU is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. This role includes clinical supervision, leadership, planning, coordination, and staff support, while upholding professional standards of nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and regulatory bodies.Ideal Candidate ProfileStrong clinical background in ICU nursing with recent hands-on experienceProven leadership experience as a Charge or Relief Charge Nurse in an ICU settingPassionate about staff development, patient outcomes, and nursing excellenceCore ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical supervision and support to nursing staff during assigned shiftsEnsure appropriate staffing, patient assignments, and coordination of careRespond to and manage emergent clinical situations with sound judgmentAssist in onboarding, mentoring, and evaluation of nursing staffCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient care planning and dischargeParticipate in continuous quality improvement (CQI), audits, and staff educationMaintain unit compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)California Registered Nurse (RN) License – active and in good standingBasic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart AssociationAt least 2 years RECENT ICU experience in an acute care hospital (excluding clinical rotations)Charge Nurse or Relief Charge Nurse experience in an ICU settingAt least one professional certification in a related specialty (e.g., CCRN) upon hirePreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Nursing (MSN)Additional leadership experience or formal management trainingWork EnvironmentNight shifts in a high-acuity Cardiac ICUCollaborative and fast-paced environment with complex patient needsSupportive leadership with a focus on development and excellence in nursing practice
