Layout Technician - 2nd Shift

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Layout Technician - 2nd Shift at our Troy, IL facility! The core hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The hourly rate for this position is $25.44 per hour, plus an additional $0.50 cent shift differential.

What You'll Do:

The Layout Technician will operate sheet metal fabrication machines, read shop orders, read and understand engineering drawings, perform quality checks and use calibration equipment such as calipers, or any other equipment necessary to perform job functions.

In the functions, you will :

• Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)
• Run various machine operations (brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing & hand sheering)

Safety & Quality Training necessary, but not limited to :

• Types of Mechanical Power Presses
• Safeguarding Requirements
• Trip Devices
• Press Inspections
• Die Setting
• Basic Operating Controls
• First Piece Quality Inspection
• In-process Quality Inspection
• Linknet training

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Must be able to move, position, and/or lift parts or boxes weighing from 10lbs-50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience reading blueprints
• Prior experience with calibration equipment such as calipers
• Proficient with computer application systems, such as SAP.
