EXPERIENCED POLICE OFFICER

Prince George’s County Police Department is now accepting applications from individuals interested in pursuing a rewarding career as a Police Officer. We seek men and women of integrity, sound judgment, and strong character who are dedicated to community‑oriented policing and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of Prince George’s County residents. Responsibilities Enforce local, state, and federal laws to protect life and property Patrol assigned areas to deter crime and ensure public safety Respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls for service Investigate crimes by collecting evidence and interviewing victims and witnesses Prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records Make arrests and issue citations when appropriate Enforce traffic laws and respond to traffic accidents Provide assistance and support to individuals in crisis situations Engage with the community to build trust and promote crime prevention Testify in court and work with prosecutors and other justice partners Uphold departmental policies, ethical standards, and professional conduct Qualifications Currently certified as a Police Officer in the State of Maryland with a minimum of 12 months patrol experience. Past or current experience must be in the following activities: Enforcing state and local criminal laws and ordinances; Enforcing state and local traffic laws and ordinances. Making physical arrests; Investigating traffic accidents; Operating an emergency vehicle; Responding to calls for service involving conflict management/mediation.
