Nurse Practitioner

Entity: Owensboro Health Medical Group | Department: Urgent Care Owensboro | Work Hours: 8:00AM-8:00PM | Weekend Requirements: Two | 1.0 FTE Job Summary In collaboration with a physician, diagnoses and treats certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations. Responsibilities Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies. May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care. Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources. Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision‑making, and the right to self‑determination. Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan. May coordinate registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co‑payments. Skills & Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under direct supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Position Requirements Work Experience: No experience required. Education: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire. Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN – Licensed as a Registered Nurse, eligible to practice nursing in Kentucky upon hire.
