Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Open Heart specialty position available in a designated healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal through young adult patients with congenital heart disease, post-surgical repair, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant, and ventricular assist device support. The position requires prior Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit experience, with a focus on complex cardiac patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), 3 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit or open heart cardiac care, and current license/certificate verification. Candidates must also possess a valid Nursys license, and be listed on the organizations profile. Professional references and completion of the Ascension skills checklist are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience specifically with neonatal through young adult cardiac care, including post surgical repair and transplant procedures.
• Additional Information: The unit features a 24-bed Pediatric cardiac ICU and a 12-bed overflow unit, caring for patients with congenital heart defects, arrhythmias, and ventricular assist devices. Care involves managing patients from neonatal to young adult age groups, with occasional adult congenital heart disease patients.
