We are the largest airline in the world with the most expansive network and we are growing. We do not require a college degree for this job and you will be fully trained by United. Your United journey begins with the best Flight Attendant training in the industry. You will spend 6.5 weeks attending Initial Training in Houston, TX. You will be assigned your base in one of our hubs (Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles) or another base location. After successful training and base orientation, you will be welcomed as a full-time United employee. During training, United provides a stipend of $140 per week, along with dual occupancy hotel accommodations and meals. Starting pay: Hourly flight pay starting at $28.88/hour, with increases based on seniority and additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips. Qualifications and Requirements 21 years of age or older at time of application High school graduate or GED; 2+ years of college preferred At least one year of customer service experience in related service industries Clear, concise, and organized communication; audible in emergencies English fluency (read, write, speak); Hebrew fluency preferred/required in some cases Ability to hear all types of sounds Ability to communicate effectively in high-stress situations (evacuations, delays, emergencies) Professional appearance and grooming; willingness to follow uniform guidelines tats: visible tattoos allowed on arms/legs with size limits and not offensive; certain areas not permitted Proficiency with electronic devices for required tasks Valid passport with 12 months remaining; travel without restrictions Ability to travel to all countries United serves; verify travel eligibility when applicable Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 250 lbs, and operate equipment Ability to pass a functional reach assessment Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with safety restraints Willingness to serve and/or sell food and beverages, including alcohol Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support United’s 24/7 operation Onboarding and Training Requirements Evacuation drill in water (pool) during training Pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests DOT/FAA pre-employment and random drug screens; marijuana prohibited 10-year background check; may involve travel restrictions depending on country Meet hearing and vision requirements per FAA and United standards What You Receive For Delivering Your Best Competitive compensation package including pay, benefits, and travel privileges Additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), vacation, and sick time Flight privileges for you, family, and friends Inclusive uniform standards to support authentic self-expression Safety and cleanliness focus in travel experiences During training, $140/week stipend, accommodations, and two meals per day; $1,000 training completion bonus To learn more about the flight attendant position and hiring process, click here!
