Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 18 months of Med/Tele experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• work on a 32-bed Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, seizure, AMS, generalized weakness, AKI/CKD, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds
• RN patient ratios are 1:5-6 with potential surge staffing up to 1:7-8
• 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700 for 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required within Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division including CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital) as needed within scope of practice

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required
• Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) required
• General medical/surgical skillset required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a family-oriented Med/Surg Tele unit at a Chest Pain and Stroke Center
• Unit is supported by CNAs, HUC/receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, dedicated pharmacist, case managers, clinical nurse specialist, respiratory therapy, nurse educator, hospitalist, and APP support
• No remote tele monitoring; unit staff are responsible for reading and posting rhythms every shift
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking provided on-site
• Holiday coverage required for 75% of holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment
• Previous permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
