Laboratory Tech (MLT/MT) - 8h/week (16h per pay period)

Job Overview Under the direction of the Technical Supervisor or designee (Tech Specialist or Charge Tech) the laboratory technician performs a diversity of clinical laboratory testing and quality control activities in designated areas of assignment. Working Hours Scheduled Weekly Hours: 8‑hour shift on 1st shift, alternating weekends, alternating holidays, and two on‑call shifts per month. Required Skills, Qualifications, Training, and Experience Minimum of one to three years’ experience as a laboratory technician or technologist in a hospital setting. May be assigned as Charge Tech for off‑shifts and weekends. Recognizes problems, identifies causes, synthesizes alternatives, and applies solutions. Confirms and verifies results through an in‑depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instrumentation. Performs routine and highly complex laboratory analysis on neonatal, pediatric, adult and/or geriatric patients as needed. Preferred Skills, Qualifications, Training, and Experience Excellent command of oral and written English. Leadership and management abilities. Operation of clinical equipment. Demonstrates clinical competence. Positive interpersonal and communication skills. Competence with hospital‑based computer system. Educational Requirements Associate’s degree in a chemical, biological or physical science or medical technology training with at least one year of laboratory training or experience. Meet all training requirements for high‑complexity testing as defined under 42CFR Section493.1489 or 493.1491 of the Federal Regulations. License/Certification MLT (ASCP); CLT (NCA) or equivalent. Salary Range $31.87–$49.13 per hour. The pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education.
