Level II NDT Technician

Job Description The NDT Technician will perform industrial inspections supporting onshore/offshore piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, mechanical and structural components, and other inspection‑related duties. This position requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and detailed documentation of inspection results. This position involves frequent travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and offshore locations to perform inspections and support project objectives. Most travel will be domestic, with occasional international assignments. As an on‑call role, it demands flexibility and readiness to travel by vessel or aircraft, often on short notice. Candidates must be prepared to work in dynamic, remote, and potentially challenging environments. Responsibilities Perform inspections using various NDT methods. Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for inspection tasks. Employ camera, video, and written documentation methods to record inspection and survey findings. Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project and industry standards. Support general inspection and maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors. Adhere strictly to offshore safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and active participation in safety drills. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient task execution. Generate inspection reports using various computer software applications. Participate in ongoing training, certification renewals, and professional development to remain current with industry standards and best practices. Assist in training and supervising Level II trainees. Conduct tests with radiographic testing equipment for various components and materials. Conduct tests in other NDT methods. Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results through formal report paperwork. Set up and calibrate inspection equipment. Operate radiography in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, paying special attention to health and safety policies. Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications – Required Minimum two (2) years of documented NDT Level II work experience. Level II certified in Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Visual, Ultrasonic Thickness, Dye Penetrant Testing methods and able to provide signed on‑the‑job training, proof of classroom hours, and Level II certifications. Certified in Digital/Computed Radiography. State Radiographer Card. Must meet company certification requirements. Must hold a valid driver’s license. Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card, valid passport, SafeGulf & HUET Water Survival certification. Ability to work offshore and onshore, including extended periods in remote locations. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Must successfully complete a respiratory fit test, administered by OII, for work in H2S environments and confined spaces; candidates must be clean‑shaven prior to testing to ensure proper mask seal and compliance. Qualifications – Desired Minimum two (2) years of related NDT experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred). Experience working offshore and in confined spaces. Rope Access Certified (preferably Irata). ASNT Level II VT, UT Thickness, MT, RT, PT Certified (preferred). High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel. Basic understanding of NDT methods and principles. Strong attention to details and commitment to safety. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Experience with NAVSEA. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics Knowledge of appropriate steps to analytical problem solving. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Working Conditions Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water. Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. Frequently humidity is above 90%, noise over 85 decibels and light intense or harsh glare. Potential exposure to open fire, flames, sparks. Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. Work surface is stable; height may be elevated.
