Senior Associate, Financial Asset Management & Underwriting

Role Overview:The Senior Associate of Financial Asset Management – Underwriting serves as a core underwriting partner to deal teams across the transaction process. This position plays a lead role in building and reviewing acquisition and disposition underwriting, as well as supporting diligence. The Senior Associate also plays a central role in training and developing junior staff on underwriting practices.Primary Responsibilities:Underwriting – Acquisitions & DispositionsLead underwriting of acquisitions and dispositions, including detailed financial analyses and Argus models Coordinate underwriting assumptions, sensitivities, and analyses with deal teams and internal partners across BrixmorDevelop a point of view on market rents, sales comps, cap rates, and submarket dynamics to inform and challenge underwriting assumptionsSupport the diligence process across active transactions, partnering with internal teams and external advisors to validate underwriting assumptionsPrepare materials for Investment Committee review and regional discussionsWork closely with the Head of Underwriting to identify and implement process improvement opportunities across the FAM teamTeam Development & CoachingReview junior team members' work to ensure quality and consistency, providing clear and constructive feedbackTrain and coach junior staff on underwriting and financial modelingSuccess Looks Like:High‑quality underwriting and IC memos that require minimal reworkTrusted partner to deal teams and leadership throughout the transaction processAbility to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities under deadlinesClear escalation of issues and decision points, enabling efficient leadership decisionsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field4–6 years of relevant experience in real estate underwriting, investments or transactions; retail real estate a plusStrong financial modeling skills, including advanced proficiency in Argus and ExcelUnderstanding of commercial real estate fundamentals, valuation, and return metrics (e.g., IRR, NPV, cash-on-cash)Strong analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skillsExperience mentoring junior team members preferred but not requiredBrixmor offers a hybrid work schedule (first three days of the week in the office, the balance remote optional), very competitive pay commensurate with background and responsibilities plus a benefits and perks package that supports career engagement, growth, good health and connection with teammates and our communities.The base salary range for this position has been established as $120,000-$140,000 PLUS participation in our annual cash bonus plan.
