Afterschool Program Director

Are you the person everyone naturally looks to when things get busy? Do you notice what needs to happen—and take care of it before someone has to ask? Hermitage BEST Kids is looking for a warm, confident, highly organized Program Director to take ownership of our growing after-school program in Hermitage/Nashville. This isn’t a position where you’ll spend the afternoon stuck in one classroom. You’ll be the person overseeing the whole program —leading our coaching team, managing transitions, supporting approximately 70 incredible kids, communicating with families, solving problems, maintaining high standards, and making sure every afternoon feels safe, organized, engaging, and FUN. THE DETAILS Monday–Friday, approximately 12:30–6:30 PM $21–$23/hour, based on experience Approximately 30 hours/week This could be an especially great fit for an educator, assistant childcare director, youth-program coordinator, camp director, recreation professional, or experienced team leader looking for a meaningful leadership position while keeping mornings free. WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO: Is exceptionally organized and dependable Communicates clearly and professionally Is warm and confident with children and families Can lead, coach, and hold a team accountable Remains calm and decisive when things get busy Notices problems and takes initiative to solve them Can create structure without losing the FUN Takes genuine ownership of the experience they lead Experience in after-school programming, education, childcare leadership, camps, recreation, youth programming, or team management is a plus—but leadership, initiative, organization, and judgment matter enormously to us. WHAT YOU’LL OWN You’ll lead the daily BEST Kids experience, including staff preparation and accountability, student arrival and dismissal, activities and transitions, behavior support, family communication, transportation operations, safety, organization, and overall program quality.
