Downtown Fort Lauderdale
Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

A solo Litigation Attorney in downtown Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Legal Assistant to join his practice on a temp-to-hire basis. His practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, with some transactional work.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solid, dependable Legal Assistant with 1–5+ years of Florida Litigation experience who is comfortable working independently and understands the day-to-day demands of litigation. Candidates with more than five years of experience are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct administrative and legal support to the attorney

• E-file documents and communicate with courts

• Manage the attorney’s calendar, appointments, and deadlines

• Assist with scheduling and coordinating meetings

• Handle incoming and outgoing calls and correspondence

• Prepare, print, scan, copy, and organize legal documents

• Process incoming and outgoing mail

• Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks

• Provide general support with litigation and some transactional matters

Ideal Candidate

• 1–5+ years of previous law firm experience; candidates with more than five years are also encouraged to apply

• Solid understanding of litigation procedures and the Florida courts

• Comfortable with e-filing and court-related tasks

• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

• Able to manage calendars and deadlines effectively

• Computer savvy and comfortable learning new technology

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook

• Familiarity with AI tools is a plus, or willingness to learn

• Able to work independently without extensive hand-holding

• Professional, dependable, and pleasant demeanor

• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Position Details

Location: Downtown Fort Lauderdale
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Work Setting: On-site
Parking: Provided
Permanent Salary: Approximately $50,000–$55,000

This is a moderate-volume practice with a nice, level-headed attorney who is looking for someone who can become a reliable, long-term member of his practice.
