Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Position Overview

Opportunity available for an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The role encompasses caring for a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.

Shift Details

Shift: 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM

Unit Information

• Unit: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 64 (including 2 Triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, 6 psych)
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
• Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department
• Experience with pediatric patients preferred
• Current, active nursing license valid in New York State
• Valid driver's license with a matching address
• Certifications: Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required
• Skills checklist matching specialty required

Role Responsibilities

As an ED RN, you will be responsible for:

• Providing comprehensive care for patients in the Emergency Department.
• Administering medications and intravenous drips as required.
• Effectively managing critical care situations, including the use of pressors such as Levophed, Neo, Epi, and others.
• Performing necessary interventions for various conditions, including stroke and trauma.
• Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Floating to different units as needed.
