Corporate Controller

With operations spanning dozens of locations nationwide, the company is entering its next phase of growth and investing heavily in the people, processes, and systems required to support a substantially larger enterprise. To support this evolution, the company is seeking a Corporate Controller to serve as a key member of the finance organization. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this individual will assume ownership of core accounting operations, monthly close, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, balance sheet integrity, and process improvement initiatives across a complex multi-location operating environment. This is a highly visible builder opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys creating structure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The successful candidate will help professionalize accounting processes, improve reporting accuracy and visibility, strengthen inventory and operational accounting disciplines, and build scalable infrastructure capable of supporting continued growth and acquisition activity. The role offers meaningful exposure to executive leadership, private equity ownership, acquisition integration efforts, and significant long-term advancement potential as the organization continues to scale. Key Responsibilities Lead and improve the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting Own balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger integrity, and financial statement preparation Develop and enhance inventory, materials, and cost accounting processes Improve location-level reporting consistency and operational visibility across a multi-site platform Partner closely with finance, operations, and executive leadership on process improvement initiativesli> Support acquisition integration activities and accounting standardization efforts Assist in building scalable systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure to support future growth Required Background Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience combining public accounting and industry experience Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership experience Experience within a multi-site operating environment is required Strong general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet ownership experienceli> Experience with inventory, cost accounting, materials accounting, or operational accounting is required Proven ability to operate in a high-growth, hands-on, rapidly changing environment Strong systems aptitude and process improvement mindset Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership Highly Preferred Private equity-backed company experience Experience supporting businesses undergoing rapid organic and acquisitive growth Background within services, distribution, construction products, industrial services, field services, installation services, or other operationally intensive environments Highlights Significant acquisition and expansion activity Highly visible role with executive leadership exposure Opportunity to build infrastructure rather than maintain it Clear runway toward broader controllership and finance leadership responsibilities Fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture with substantial growth ahead For confidential consideration, please contact Townsend Search Group. #J-18808-Ljbffr Townsend Search Group
