Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required License: Active compact license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS preferred, AWHONN Advanced preferred, AWHONN Intermediate preferred Must-Have: Current supervisory references required Proof of required certifications with submission Must pass clinical review Experience in high acuity and high pace environment required High risk experience preferred Ability to circulate and provide newborn care required Description: Candidates must have experience in a high-risk labor and delivery environment. Local candidates will be considered at the same rate. Perm candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract only if they have been separated for at least three months. Candidates will function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must circulate for C-sections and provide newborn care. Proficiency in electronic fetal monitoring is required. Candidates will be expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed. Clinicians may float to other units as necessary. Experience will be valued and staffing will follow appropriate guidelines. The average daily census is 15 patients, with a monthly delivery rate of 500-600. The unit consists of 31 rooms and beds to accommodate patients. Floating may occur to sister facilities, but is rare. Candidates must provide comprehensive care, including assessments and administration of newborn procedures. All candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Commitment to working three out of five holidays is required. All scheduling requests must be made upfront during submission. Inflexibility concerning scheduling may result in termination of the contract.
