Location: Owings Mills, MD. Start Date: October 5 for this 6-month contract position. Must reside locally to Owings Mills, MD. Relocation will not be considered at this time. Compensation Range: $60-67/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401K Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery and project coordination for a small technical development team. This individual will work closely with Management, Product Owners, Developers, and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) to facilitate Scrum processes, maintain visibility into development progress, remove roadblocks, and ensure the team remains aligned with sprint priorities. The ideal candidate brings 5 years of Scrum Master experience, strong Rally expertise, and the maturity to independently lead a team without requiring significant oversight.

Job Summary:

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Lead and coordinate Agile delivery for a small technical team of approximately 3–5 members.
• Partner with Product Owners, Developers, SDETs, and Management to maintain alignment around priorities and deliverables.
• Serve as the primary point person for understanding overall development progress and priorities within each sprint.
• Guide team members in applying Agile and Scrum principles and best practices.
• Track sprint progress, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and action items.
• Maintain Agile project information and team progress within Rally.
• Remove roadblocks and help resolve issues impacting team delivery.
• Drive accountability across the Scrum team while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Identify resource, scheduling, functionality, and team conflicts and escalate appropriately to Management.
• Coordinate work across technical stakeholders and ensure priorities remain clearly communicated.
• Provide project management and coordination support in addition to traditional Scrum Master responsibilities.
• Proactively identify potential delivery risks and determine appropriate next steps without waiting for management direction.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and priorities.

Required Qualifications:

• 10 years of overall professional experience.
• 5 years of dedicated Scrum Master experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum frameworks.
• Hands-on Rally experience.
• Experience independently leading Scrum ceremonies and Agile delivery.
• Experience leading small technical development teams of approximately 3–5 members.
• Experience partnering directly with Product Owners, Developers, QA/SDETs, and Management.
• Ability to remove roadblocks, drive accountability, and maintain momentum across a development team.
• Experience balancing Scrum Master responsibilities with broader project management and team coordination.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Highly proactive and able to operate independently without significant management oversight.
• Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through.
• Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to support the team while still holding individuals accountable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to independently determine solutions.
• Must have a personal laptop or desktop computer available for work use.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within financial services, asset management, banking, or FinTech.
• Knowledge of web application testing.
• Experience working directly with SDETs or automated testing teams.
• Experience supporting software development projects in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience combining Scrum Master and technical Project Management responsibilities.
