Overnight Security Officer - Full Time *$500 Sign-on Bonus

*$500 Sign-on Bonus. You will receive $250 upon a successful 90 day completion and $250 upon 180 day completion of employment. POSITION PURPOSE: Perform protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and associates. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Foot patrol ofthe interior of the resort to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluate situations and make logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work. Maintain order in the resort, dealing with the welfare of guests, assisting with door lock problems, coordinate expedient response to emergency conditions such as fire, fire or safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handle undesired conduct, violations of hotel policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of hotel guests, associates, patrons and property. Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls and respond in a timely manner based on priority. Prepare relevant information on house count, conventions, arrivals and departures from each shift. Memorize and monitor life safety system including accurate layout of entire building, locations of stand pipes, fire extinguishers, complete alarm reports and checks and report any pertinent information from each shift. Observe monitors for any unusual activity and in the case of suspicious behavior report directly, via radio, to the supervisor on duty; report any alarms similarly. Administer CPR and First Aid. OTHER: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Doral Golf Resort & Spa from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide "Lateral Service." Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company. Provide accurate information to inquiries for directions and hours of operations. Receive record and secure found property. Research and respond to guests inquiries for lost property. Assist guests with door lock and in room safe problems using moderately complex hand held electronic apparatus. Escort guests and associates as required to parking lots. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Thorough knowledge of the floor plans and layout of the building(s), function rooms, and working knowledge of the city and surrounding area. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information. Ability to communicate orally and verbally in English with staff and outside entities. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property. Ability to follow written and or verbal instructions. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing up to 50 lbs., sufficient manual dexterity in hands. Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace. Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent preferred. EXPERIENCE 1-2 years Hospitality experience. Prior law enforcement, security or military experience an asset. LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES Security Class D License required, CPR / First Aid Certified preferred. GROOMING All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process. OTHER Additional language ability preferred.
