Mission

Own the press brake area—its people, processes, and performance. Build programs, document setups, and lead a capable team to deliver parts that meet customer specifications and Jireh Metal Products’ quality standards, every time.

Core responsibilities Lead and develop the team

• Provide daily direction, technical support, and coaching to Press Brake Operators and assigned team members.
• Balance priorities by schedule, staffing, equipment, tooling, and material availability.
• Train and cross-train on machine operation, programming, setup, blueprint reading, inspection, safety, and quality.
• Assess skills, identify training needs, and establish backups for critical jobs and equipment.
• Communicate progress, constraints, quality concerns, and resource needs to the Production Manager.

Execute press brake operations

• Program, set up, and operate CNC press brakes per work instructions and production schedules.
• Interpret drawings, work orders, bend requirements, and specifications.
• Select, install, and verify proper punches, dies, and tooling.
• Handle complex setups; assist operators with new jobs, troubleshooting, and process adjustments.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections; make adjustments to sustain quality and efficiency.

Document processes and improve setups

• Create and maintain machine programs, tooling requirements, setup instructions, inspection requirements, and job documentation.
• Develop clear, repeatable setup procedures to ensure consistent, conforming output.
• Control programs and documentation to the correct revisions.
• Update based on engineering changes, tooling changes, production issues, and lessons learned.

Champion quality

• Use calipers, angle gauges, tape measures, fixtures, and other precision devices to verify parts.
• Ensure the team understands print requirements, critical dimensions, and inspection expectations.
• Flag and report quality concerns, tooling issues, equipment problems, material defects, and process variation.
• Stop production when needed and support containment, corrective action, and continuous improvement.

Care for equipment and tooling

• Perform routine inspections and ensure required maintenance occurs.
• Maintain tooling condition and report wear or damage.
• Troubleshoot machine, programming, setup, and tooling challenges.
• Keep machines, tooling, and work areas organized.

Prioritize safety and organization

• Lead by example with company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure use of machine safeguards, proper material handling, and PPE.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe work areas using 5S.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment, or practices.

Use the systems

• Accurately complete and review production reporting and required documentation.
• Utilize Plex, Job Web, machine programming systems, and other manufacturing software.
• Record production quantities, labor, scrap, downtime, setup time, and quality information correctly.

Drive continuous improvement

• Lead improvements in safety, quality, setup reduction, productivity, tooling organization, and error prevention.
• Support new product launches, process development, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Material Handling to improve performance.
• Perform other duties to support customer, operational, and business requirements.

What you bring Required

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC press brakes.
• Competence in reading blueprints, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to direct work, train others, and provide technical support.
• Safe work habits in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred

• Five or more years in CNC press brake operations.
• Past experience as a lead, supervisor, or trainer.
• Background developing programs, setup documentation, and standardized work.
• Experience in metal fabrication manufacturing.

Environment & PPE

• Manufacturing environment with moving machinery and equipment.
• Exposure to noise, dust, oils, grease, sharp metal edges, and varying temperatures.
• Strict adherence to safety procedures is required.
• Safety glasses and hearing protection required; additional PPE as tasks require.
