We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Accountant to support our day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, possess strong analytical skills, and be comfortable learning new software, systems, and reporting tools.

** Key Responsibilities **

-Record and maintain accurate General Ledger transactions.

-Prepare and post journal entries.

-Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations.

-Support monthly and year-end closing activities.

-Prepare and record customer invoices.

-Apply customer payments accurately and promptly.

-Reconcile customer accounts and research payment discrepancies.

-Monitor outstanding Accounts Receivable and assist with customer follow-up.

-Assist with Accounts Payable activities when needed, including entering invoices and reconciling vendor accounts.

-Maintain and reconcile inventory accounting records.

-Review inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies.

-Assist with inventory adjustments and reconciliations.

-Record, review, and reconcile Cost of Goods Sold.

-Analyze differences between inventory activity, sales, and Cost of Goods Sold.

-Prepare financial reports and account analyses.

-Maintain accurate and organized supporting documentation.

-Assist with audits and other accounting projects as needed.

** Qualifications **

-Bachelor's in Accounting.

-4-5 years experience as a General Accountant, Staff Accountant, or in a similar accounting role.

-Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop.

-Solid understanding of Accounts Receivable and General Ledger accounting.

-Experience preparing customer invoices and applying customer payments.

-Experience with inventory accounting and Cost of Goods Sold.

-Ability to assist with Accounts Payable activities when required.

-Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

-Comfortable learning and working with new software, systems, and reporting tools.

-Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

-Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

-Good written and verbal communication skills.

** Additional Skills **

-Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and Power Query.

-Experience with data analysis and financial reporting tools.

-Ability to identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes.

-Ability to work with large data sets and translate accounting information into clear reports.

** Preferred Qualifications **

-Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.

-Knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.

-Experience in a product-based, distribution, manufacturing, inventory, or trading environment.
