Position Overview Primacare Psychotherapy Services is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in Rockford, Illinois. Work Environment The position is structured to be fully remote, allowing you to conduct sessions from your home while maintaining a strong connection with the office team. Despite the virtual setting, you will be supported through regular team meetings, training sessions, and collaborative projects. Our outpatient office structure means you will work primarily with clients who can manage their treatment from home, offering flexibility and comfort in the therapeutic process. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health evaluations to identify the specific needs of each client. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all clinical interactions, including treatment progress from intake through completion. Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans for various client demographics, including individuals, couples, families, and groups. Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a range of therapeutic techniques suited to client needs. Monitor and assess client progress against treatment goals, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to provide holistic care and support. Manage referrals to and communications with psychiatrists and other specialists involved in client care. Educate and support family members and primary caregivers in addressing mental health challenges and promoting supportive environments for recovery. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will encompass a diverse range of clients, including adults struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship challenges, as well as adolescents navigating emotional and behavioral issues. Each client presents unique circumstances and backgrounds, allowing for a rich variety of therapeutic experiences and growth opportunities. You will cater to clients at different stages of their mental health journey, fostering an environment of healing and empowerment. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW, etc.) in Illinois. A successful completion of the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE). A minimum of two years of experience in mental health counseling is highly desirable. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, is essential for efficient documentation. Preferred Experience Familiarity with best practices set forth by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is advantageous. Experience working with patients experiencing comorbid physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders. A deep understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects, as prescribed by medical practitioners. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey and document client interactions. A proven ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.
