Education Requirements Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, bookkeeping, payroll, or accounting experience will be considered. Ongoing professional development in accounting, payroll, tax compliance, or financial reporting is a plus. Experience Requirements 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, controller, or financial management roles preferred. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, accounting software, and general ledger management. Knowledge of sales tax, payroll tax filings, 1099 reporting, and corporate tax preparation support. Transportation or trucking industry accounting experience preferred, including familiarity with IFTA, Form 2290, and regulatory filings. Physical Capabilities Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. Ability to review financial documents and enter data accurately. Capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced office environment. Ability to occasionally lift and move office materials up to 20 pounds. Job Duties Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting functions. Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile bank and credit card accounts, and maintain accurate financial records. Generate monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets, and cash flow analyses. Coordinate tax-related activities, including sales tax, payroll tax, PFML filings, and 1099 reporting. Prepare and submit quarterly IFTA fuel tax returns, annual Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax (Form 2290), and other transportation-related compliance filings. Maintain MCS-150 records and support regulatory reporting requirements. Process daily operational paperwork, including delivery receipt documentation. Assist with audits, insurance reporting, and collaboration with external accountants. Maintain strict confidentiality and support strong internal financial controls.
