Vice President of Finance

We are seeking a strategic, commercially oriented, and transformational Vice President of Finance to lead the business finance function across our Strategic Business Units and Segments. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and working from our Pittsburgh, PA headquarters, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the rigor, discipline, business partnership, and impact of our finance organization as well as partnering with the CEO and CFO on key operational initiatives. As our Vice President of Finance, you will lead a team of Finance Directors and serve as the primary catalyst for strengthening financial performance management, accelerating profitable growth, optimizing working capital, and enhancing commercial excellence across the enterprise. You will drive a step change in how finance supports business decision-making by creating a more proactive, data-driven, engaged, and influential finance organization.You will work closely with senior business leadership, Corporate Strategy, Controllership, Treasury, Tax, M&A, Investor Relations, and other Finance Centers of Excellence to ensure world-class financial stewardship while enabling growth and value creation.PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.Main Responsibilities:Enterprise Business PartnershipServe as the senior finance leader and trusted advisor to business leadership across our Strategic Business Units and Segments as well as corporate functions.Drive fact-based decision making by providing actionable financial insights, strategic guidance, and performance analysis.Challenge business assumptions and influence operating decisions to maximize shareholder value.Financial Performance and ProfitabilityLead efforts to improve profitability through disciplined performance management, pricing excellence, margin expansion initiatives, and resource allocation.Establish greater accountability and rigor around financial commitments, forecasts, businessreviews, and performance interventions.Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for growth, productivity, and operational improvement.Working Capital ExcellenceDrive enterprise focus on working capital optimization, including inventory management, receivables performance, and cash generation.Establish clear performance metrics and accountability mechanisms to improve cash conversion and capital efficiency.Finance Function TransformationElevate the capabilities, engagement, and effectiveness of the business finance organization.Build a highly proactive finance team that acts as a strategic business partner rather than a traditional reporting function.Develop new standards for financial analysis, forecasting accuracy, decision support, and timely management insights enabled by better data, dashboards, and analytics.Leadership of Finance DirectorsLead and develop Finance Directors supporting our business units and segments as well as corporate functions.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and talent development.Build a robust pipeline of finance talent through intentional succession planning, stretch assignments, mentoring, and development of high-potential leaders across business units, segments, and corporate functions.Ensure consistency of financial practices while encouraging innovation and business partnership excellence.Cross-Functional Finance LeadershipCoordinate closely with Controllership and other Finance Centers of Excellence to ensure business finance activitiesare aligned with enterprise processes, reporting requirements, and governance expectations.Partner across Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations, M&A, and Corporate Strategy to deliver integrated financial leadership.Champion best practices and leverage enterprise-wide financial expertise to improve business outcomes.Strategic Planning and Investment Decision SupportLead the financial aspects of strategic planning, annual operating plans, long-range planning, and investmentdecision support.Develop and evaluate robust business cases for capital investments,growth opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives, ensuring clear assumptions, financial rigor, risk assessment, and value creation expectations.Provide financial analysis and recommendations that support enterprise prioritization, while ensuring business-sponsored investments are aligned with strategic objectives and return expectations.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field requiredMBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within a global, complex organizationDemonstrated success leading business finance organizations and partnering directly with senior operating executivesStrong track record of driving profitability improvement, performance management, and business transformationExperience leading large, geographically dispersed teamsDeep understanding of commercial finance, FP&A, financial operations, and strategic planningHow we work: At PPG, we bring teams together to accelerate collaboration and career development, with in-person work Monday through Thursday and the opportunity to work remotely on Flexible Fridays.
