You’ll play a critical role in maintaining customer confidence—especially during time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.If you thrive on solving problems, enjoy helping customers, and can stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment, this role offers a strong foundation to build a career in technical support, engineering, or product.What You’ll DoCustomer Support & TroubleshootingRespond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels with professionalism and urgencyDiagnose and resolve product issues using structured troubleshooting methodsClearly explain technical concepts to customers with varying levels of technical knowledgeDocument interactions, troubleshooting steps, and outcomes with accuracy and detailCustomer ExperienceBuild trust with customers by actively listening, clarifying issues, and confirming solutionsMaintain a calm, confident presence when working with frustrated or impacted customersUse de-escalation techniques to manage challenging conversationsCollaboration & EscalationPartner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Customer Care) to resolve complex issuesEscalate issues outside your scope while maintaining ownership of the customer experienceSupport internal teams, including Customer Service, with product and configuration questionsOperations & Workload ManagementManage multiple customer interactions in a high-volume support environmentPrioritize competing requests and adapt quickly during peak periods or service disruptionsParticipate in rotational on-call or after-hours support as neededWhat It Takes to SucceedMust-Have QualificationsStrong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyAbility to stay composed and effective in fast-paced or high-pressure situationsDemonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to follow structured troubleshooting processesStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyAbility to manage multiple tasks and customer interactions simultaneouslyPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field0–2 years of experience in technical support, customer support, or a similar roleExposure to hardware, software, or connected/IoT productsFamiliarity with CRM or ticketing toolsWork Environment & ScheduleOffice-based role located in the Milwaukee areaHigh-volume customer support environment requiring frequent phone and computer useAbility to sit for extended periods and work in a team-oriented settingParticipation in a rotating on-call schedule to support customer needsCompetitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:Competitive PayAnnual Bonus Eligible for Annual Pay Increases Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage 15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid Holidays Two Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
