General Responsibilities: The Senior Accountant will work closely with Division Controller and other senior members of the organization to lead and support various financial activities, including inventory and costing processes. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of month‑end close, preparing complex journal entries, conducting thorough general ledger analysis, and managing standard cost updates. Significant Duties: Record cash transactions, ensuring entries adhere to accounting principles and company guidelines. Perform monthly bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly. Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly. Prepare and analyze journal entries to record standard COGS, overhead allocations, and other complex accounting and costing‑related transactions. Responsible for updating standard costs with precision to ensure accurate inventory values and financial records. Assist with annual physical inventory counts, manage the monthly work order process, and prepare and review work order variances with management. Maintain an accurate inventory roll forward to ensure proper balances at month‑end. Collaborate with the accounting team to address and resolve external audit requests as required. Lead AP team, develop relationships with vendors, monthly reconciliation of vendor statements, and weekly ageing reports. Supervise two or more staff persons and preparation of annual review. Develop, implement, and maintain construction management system, including setting up projects (jobs), budgets, job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and various construction progress reports. Review and analyze capitalization of costs. Ensure compliance with policy. Manage process for proper coding of construction invoices (payment applications) and lien releases for contractor and vendor invoices. Maintain contract documents including records of lien releases in appropriate files. Analyze and review construction status with Project/Construction Managers. Direct and participate in cost analyses. Prepare/gather materials related to construction and cost accounting matters for internal and external auditors. Coordinate/interface with cost accounting system software provider. Believes in and champions 20/20’s core values and inspires others to do the same. Undertake and manage additional duties and projects to support the accounting department. Other Duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications Four‑year degree in Business with emphasis in accounting required. Four (4) years of experience in a supervisory role and working in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preferably in the construction industry. Ability to build relationships with internal and external business contacts required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong background in Accounting principles. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills (gather & analyze information, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable alternative solutions to problems, and evaluate the consequences of each alternative). Self‑motivated with ability to work well in a team setting. Strong time‑management skills required. Able to maintain professional composure under tight deadlines or sensitive situations. Strong critical‑thinking and analytical skills. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to handle a high volume, fast‑paced work environment. Ability to understand and analyze data to make decisions. Strong planning and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide instruction in a clear and concise manner and follow up when necessary. Detail‑oriented ability to prioritize with strong organization skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Uses independent judgment and discretion in prioritizing and managing situations. Ability to adapt to changing business needs. Physical Requirements: The position of Senior Accountant requires that you can occasionally lift objects that weigh up to 15 pounds.
