Fond du Lac Avenue, MilwaukeeSchedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week/ We offer the flexibility to work either five 8 hour shifts or four 10 hour shifts.Department: Children's Medical GroupAbout Midtown ClinicMidtown Clinic is a 22-exam room facility located in the heart of Milwaukee's inner city, serving a diverse and underserved patient population. Our team is deeply committed to addressing Social Drivers of Health (SDOH) through clinical care, education, and community outreach. We proudly partner with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), hosting medical students and residents, and participating in research and pilot initiatives. Midtown also collaborates with community organizations such as Chorus Community Health and Feeding America to bring resources directly into the clinic. Every second Thursday, we distribute 75 free meals and gently used clothing, no appointment required.Position SummaryThe Midtown RN plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care through triage, emergent response, and direct patient support. This position requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a passion for serving vulnerable populations.Key ResponsibilitiesTriageRespond to calls within 4 hours; high-priority calls within 1 hourComplete RX requests and MyChart messages within 2 business daysMake at least 2 call attempts per encounter before closureEnsure all calls received before 3:30 PM are addressed same dayEmergent CareManage Epic Secure Chat and Triage 4 Pediatrics (T4P) dailyRespond promptly to in-clinic and lobby emergenciesFloor SupportAssist with vaccine and medication preparationRoom same-day and urgent visitsProvide patient education (MDI, nebulizer, EpiPen), suctioning, and straight cathsRound with providers and MAs at 5:00 PMSupport lab draws and monitor workroom needsClinic OperationsRecord fridge temperatures dailyVerify POCT lot numbers weeklyCheck emergency box daily and complete monthly inventoryPre-chart nurse schedules 2 days in advance and monitor daily add-onsQualificationsActive RN license in the State of WisconsinCurrent BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)Experience in primary care or urgent care preferredPediatric and phlebotomy experience preferredWhy Midtown?Mission-driven care for underserved familiesAcademic and research collaboration with MCWEmbedded community outreach and resource distributionSupportive, team-oriented environment with opportunities for growthChildren's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
