This role involves ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems, troubleshooting electrical issues, and overseeing electrical projects from conception through to completion. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with other engineering disciplines, maintenance teams, and contractors to support operational goals and compliance with industry standards.Job ResponsibilitiesReporting to the General Manager - Processing, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the following:Review and design electrical components and systems, including instrumentation, controls, motors, DCS/PLC, switchgear, transformers, MCC's, lighting, grounding, cable tray, power distribution systems and relaying;Review technical specifications and drawings of electrical systems, adding value and constructability; ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards;Direct electrical construction and ensure compliance to design codes and budget;Cable routing, interpretation of drawings and schematics, substation and electrical control room erection, electrical equipment troubleshooting, checkout, loop testing, etc.Lead and mentor any assigned staff;Skills and Qualifications5 years of related industry experienceExposure to Mesabi Ranging mining operations preferredExhibited effectiveness in verbal and written communicationsDemonstrated knowledge of and adherence to safety best practicesEducationBachelor's degree in related professional / technical curriculumPhysical RequirementsThis position requires some work in front of a PC, desk, and phone and regular field work.Some lifting and strength required.Salary Range$75,000 - $123,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.BenefitsHealth Insurance: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage with an HSA option.Retirement Plan: 401(k) with 4% company match.Lincoln STD, LTD, & Life Insurance: Coverage provided by Mesabi Metallics.Paid Time Off (PTO): 0-3 Years: 96 hours per year.Plus 9 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays.Mesabi Metallics Company LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
