Capital And Risk Strategy Specialist

Capital and risk strategy specialist closer to capital and solvency strategy than a pure modeling IC because the work connects models to governance, regulatory requirements, and financial condition assessments.

Senior Life actuarial modeling role with Aflac Re in Columbus, Georgia. You will build and govern models for reserving, pricing, forecasting, ALM, economic capital, and solvency analysis, while explaining results to senior management and external parties. The role is hybrid, with at least 60% of the work week in the Columbus office.

Requirements

Must have:

• FSA designation from the SOA
• ASA designation from the SOA

Strongly preferred:

• Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience (if FSA)
• Minimum 8 years of actuarial experience (if ASA)
• Currently a candidate in or qualified to become a candidate in the Aflac Actuarial Development Program (ASA and recent FSA)
• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field
• Hands-on modeling experience in ALM modeling and/or capital modeling
• Experience with Bermuda (re)insurance regulatory frameworks or other market consistent jurisdictions
• Experience with economic capital modeling, stress testing, and cash flow testing
• Proficient at coding models with at least one of: Excel, SQL, MG-Alfa, Prophet, AXIS
• Strong familiarity with model governance, best practices and independent model validation
• Extensive expertise with reserve and capital methodology under market consistent regimes
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong internal/external customer service skills

Nice to have:

• Some understanding of reinsurance
