The eight‑campus district has 613 beds and provides a broad continuum of care. The purpose of this position is to protect and promote health, prevent illness and injury, and alleviate suffering through nursing diagnosis and treatment. Qualifications License / Certification Required: California RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire/transfer. Education Preferred: BSN, MSN, or current RN‑BSN program enrollment. Responsibilities Practice is guided by the Code of Ethics and professional behavior, including respectful interactions with co‑workers. Identify high‑risk patients and initiate interventions with ancillary departments. Maintain patient confidentiality within legal and regulatory parameters. Act as a patient advocate and assist patients with developing self‑advocacy skills. Deliver care in a non‑judgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that preserves patient autonomy, dignity, and rights. Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) and document outcomes. Use quality of care and performance improvement data to initiate changes in nursing practice. Collect clinical data to monitor quality and effectiveness and recommend improvements. Assist in development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practice guidelines to enhance quality of care. Participate on interdisciplinary teams evaluating clinical practice or health services related to patient care. Participate in quality improvement studies, task forces, or committees; implement suggested improvements. Identify and solve problematic areas independently and share findings with colleagues. Collaborate and communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Use peer review and observation to monitor documentation for appropriate referrals. Formulate the plan of care and involve patients in decisions related to care and delivery services. Make referrals and ensure continuity of care as needed. Team Leader Addendum (essential for specific dept) Primary clinical resource for staff on assigned unit; role model and mentor. Act as Nurse Manager Representative in absence. Provide leadership and support through problem solving and decision making. Support nurse preceptors and orient new employees; assist with employee evaluations. Ensure float staff receive orientation and feel welcome. Manage staff and patient flow: assign staff based on abilities and patient needs; set shift reports; monitor breaks; determine staffing needs; communicate to Staff Facilitator or Nursing Supervisor. Assign staff to ensure equipment checks are completed. Coordinate care in high‑risk or emergent situations and report critical patients to the Nurse Manager or Director. Ensure collaboration between staff, physicians, and other providers; keep communication lines open. Document and report patient care issues; ensure Statement of Concern completion. Use medical staff and Kaweah Health chain of command; guide employee counseling needs. Provide patient care as needed; make fiscally responsible staffing and supply decisions. Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development for all patients and families; communicate effectively. Perform other duties as assigned. Benefits & Work Shift Full‑time, eligible for benefits.
