Assistant Principal for Teaching & Learning - Randolph High School Job ID: 5624434 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Apr 02, 2026 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Jul 1, 2026 Job Description The Randolph High School Assistant Principal is accountable for assisting the Principal with the administration and efficient operation of all aspects of the high school facility consistent with sound educational principles and a philosophy of education that strongly emphasizes student learning and success. School‑Level Responsibilities Support the development of the School Improvement Plan. Facilitate standards‑based educational practices, enhance professional development and dialogue, and foster a culture of academic excellence. Provide school‑wide feedback that directs educators’ efforts to implement standards‑based teaching practices. Participate in the Professional Development Committee to plan teachers’ growth opportunities. Assist with discipline, stabilize student discipline, monitor teacher teams, implement standards‑based pedagogy and curricula, and establish full inclusion for most students. Support programming focused on students’ socio‑emotional needs. Create data reports to lead school‑wide and classroom‑based interventions involving student attendance, behavior, and other at‑risk indicators; supervise and coordinate high‑school administrative data operations. Evaluate teachers, guidance and paraprofessionals through observations, conferences, and reports. Manage professional‑status teachers’ individual professional development plans. Develop and manage the process for using formative assessments to guide instruction. Lead and coach teams of teachers to analyze data, develop strategy, and enhance instruction. Serve as an academic liaison among parents, partners, teachers, and administrators. Coordinate administration of all assessments including school‑based and state‑level. Plan and coordinate the master schedule process. Facilitate course registration and assist counselors in student scheduling. Coordinate staff development with the principal. Supervise the instructional programs and staff in assigned departments. Attend or supervise extracurricular activities such as dance, plays, musical events, parent education. Provide leadership as a school liaison with department chairs and directors. Help plan and facilitate staff meetings. May provide building‑level oversight of special education/504 programs. Perform all duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent. Employment Terms Individual contract, full year with 25 vacation days. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education. Position Type: Full‑time Job Requirements Certified or certifiable as a high‑school principal/assistant principal (9‑12) in Massachusetts. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in an appropriate field. Knowledge of educational organization, administration, supervision, and curriculum development. Excellent communication skills with parents, students, teachers, administrators, and the school committee. Ability to lead discussions about student needs and development. Knowledge of classroom management and discipline techniques. Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software. Experience working with diverse populations. Preferred experience as an administrator and with secondary‑school scheduling. Preferred SPED administrative license. Preferred at least 3 years of relevant experience.
