Transform the educational experience for a small group of dedicated students by stepping into a special education classroom tailored for grades 4 through 6. This contract role is designed for a passionate professional ready to lead a self-contained setting, supporting five students alongside two paraprofessionals. The position begins as soon as possible and will run through December 31, 2026.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

• Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with elementary-grade students, ideally in a self-contained environment
• Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Skilled in adapting curriculum and implementing evidence-based interventions
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Effective communicator comfortable collaborating with paraprofessionals, families, and related services staff

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Developing and executing individualized lesson plans that align with IEPs
• Assessing student progress and maintaining thorough documentation
• Providing direct instruction as well as differentiated small-group and individualized support
• Leading, supporting, and mentoring the two classroom paraprofessionals
• Maintaining consistent communication and collaboration with support staff and families
• Managing classroom routines and creating an environment where all students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn
