Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising maintenance staff and overseeing corrective or preventative maintenance procedures within the plant. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Supervise and assign work to maintenance employees and inspect work for completeness. Develop, support, and coordinate maintenance personnel by clearly communicating short‑ and long‑term maintenance plans. Coordinate or install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems in the plant. Ensure equipment and plant availability through effective and efficient scheduling of maintenance and repair. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and programs. Coordinate teams to improve performance and develop procedures. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate all maintenance actions. Possess thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions for assigned duties. Improve safety and labor efficiencies by providing proper tools and training. Utilize analytical techniques to monitor, measure, and prioritize improvements to process equipment to meet or exceed production goals and quality expectations. Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting as required. Perform any other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3‑5 years of supervisory experience in industrial equipment and plant repair technology; experience leading a team. 3‑5 years of experience in Stick and TIG welding fabrication or 2 years in PLC troubleshooting and programming. At least 1 year of experience with computer maintenance programs, including MS Word and MS Excel. Preferred Qualifications Technical degree in a related field and/or a bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior experience in rendering preferred. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate maintenance plans to personnel and equipment operators. Knowledge of safety and environmental procedures. Strong teamwork skills with supervisors, peers, and subordinates. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Physical demands include: Handling equipment and tools up to 50 pounds. Exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, and temperature extremes. Working in environments with biohazard, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and potential for electrical shock. Using hands, fingers, and tools to operate equipment and perform tasks. Walking, climbing ladders, and working at heights as necessary. Communicating with coworkers and clients and detecting hazardous conditions.
