At Piedmont Metals of Burlington, we’re a fast-growing and forward-thinking metal fabrication company serving a diverse range of customers. We’re looking for a reliable, organized, and results-driven professional to join our team as an Internal Inside Sales Representative — a key role that connects sales, production, purchasing, and customer communication.

Position Summary

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys coordinating internal operations, handling customer needs, and supporting both production and sales departments. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing, inventory tracking, and timely project completion. The position is onsite in our Burlington, NC office.

Key Responsibilities:

Order & Process Coordination

• Accurately enter and manage internal customers orders with minimal supervision
• Coordinate purchasing, invoicing, and materials management for internal jobs using Microsoft Excel to create job packages.
• Monitor workflow and timelines to meet delivery and production goals by communicating with internal departments.
• Read and interpret blueprints or drawings to verify job specifications ( prior experience required)
• Provide timely updates on project status and assist in issue resolution

Customer Service & Communication

• Support sales reps with handling customer inquiries
• Handle internal departments inquiries and proactively follow up on open orders
• Maintain accurate records and protect sensitive customer and company information
• Prepare updates and internal reports as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years in operations, customer service, or inside sales preferred within manufacturing, steel, or construction.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP formulas, data tracking)
• Excellent organization and time management
• Detail-oriented and proactive with problem-solving
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
