Job Overview Title: Engineer Co‑op, Fall 2026 Company: Tampa Electric Company State and City: Florida – North Ruskin Shift: 8 Hr. × 5 Days Position Summary The TECO Energy Cooperative Education Program provides college degree‑seeking students an opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. These engineering co‑op positions report to Energy Supply engineers and support a variety of technical projects ranging in complexity, scope and time spans. Key Responsibilities and Learning Objectives Review and analyze required codes, standards, and regulations to support design efforts. Review engineering documents, including design drawings, reports, and specifications. Perform walk‑downs and field engineering activities to support design and construction efforts. Monitor on‑going construction activities to verify conformance with design drawings. Physical Location of Co‑op Big Bend Power Station, Apollo Beach, FL (main location) Bayside Power Station, Tampa, FL Polk Power Station, Mulberry, FL Working Conditions Students will work 50% of the time in power stations and service areas. Duties include hands‑on work, working at heights on raised walkways, and operating in industrial environments that may be dirty. Preferred Availability Full‑time (40 hours) Qualifications Education : Enrolled as a college undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited university in a related discipline for the first semester of participation. Co‑op Requirements : Enrollment in the university’s co‑op program (proof of enrollment required). If ineligible, the student will be considered an intern. Preferred/Related Discipline : Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical (if applicable). Year in School : Junior or Senior.
