Job Opportunity

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse works collaboratively within a healthcare team, planning and implementing education for patients and their families. The nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions.

Shift Requirements

• Variable shift with 3 mandatory calls in a 13-week period.
• Must be able to circulate and float to different units, including Mother Baby and couplets, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Montana Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider Certification (recertification required every 2 years).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion (or equivalent AWHONN approved course) required unless a Lactation RN.
• American Heart Association ACLS Certification (not required if a Lactation RN).
• Competence and willingness to practice modified primary nursing.
• Completion of 2 hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education.
• If Lactation RN: Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC).
• Preferred: One year of labor and delivery experience.

Schedule Requirements

• Regular and sustained attendance is essential.
• May require working beyond a standard 40-hour week, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• On-call work may be necessary to address patient or organizational needs.

Physical Requirements

• Walking: Requires good balance and coordination within the work area.

Exposure Risks

This position may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, and various chemicals and medications. Handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and interacting with patients who may have contagious illnesses are also part of the role. Employees may encounter emotionally challenging situations, including distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
