HR Coordinator (Part-Time, On-Site) Newlands Church — Katy, TX About Newlands Newlands Church is a growing, multi-site church in the Katy/Fulshear area serving thousands of people across our campuses. We care deeply about our team — and this role exists to care for them well. About the Role We're looking for a warm, organized HR Coordinator to support our staff behind the scenes — making sure every team member is welcomed well, supported through benefits and life events, and sent off with dignity. You'll keep our people systems running smoothly so our leaders can stay focused on ministry. Responsibilities Own employee onboarding and offboarding using our Basecamp checklists Administer benefits through GuideStone (medical, dental, vision, life, 403b) and EBC (FSA), including calendar-year open enrollment Run the hiring pipeline in JazzHR — posting roles, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidates, and managing background checks Maintain employee files, compliance (I-9, ACA, Texas employment law), and the employee handbook Track PTO and support the annual performance review cycle What We're Looking For 3+ years of HR operations experience Familiarity with benefits administration and HR compliance Experience with HR or hiring platforms (JazzHR or similar) a plus Warmth, discretion, and exceptional organization A growing personal relationship with Christ and alignment with our mission and values The Details Part-time, ~20–25 hours/week, primarily on-site in Katy, TX Hourly / non-exempt; pay depending on experience Reports to the Central Business Operations Pastor All staff are expected to be or become members of Newlands Church Newlands Church is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, or disability.
